COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course provides a comprehensive overview of the scientific basis of bioprocess engineering. It addresse the essential concepts and methods for bioprocess simulation, scale-up and optimization, particularly mass and energy balances, fluid flow energetics, mass and heat transfer, biotransformation reactions kinetics, bioreactors modeling and design. The course offers a combination of methodological presentations, exercises, case study problems and projects.
